Project management

International project management: The International Risk Manager®

International or cross-border activities (e.g. change of domicile or relocation of firms) presuppose a professional project management that is able to centrally select, coordinate, control and lead all specialists involved, such as lawyers, tax consultants / advisers, auditors etc. In this manner, the relevant know-how can be compiled as a whole unit and delivered en-bloc.

The so-called International Private Risk Management® very specifically entails the following aspects:

  • individually designed collection and logging of basic data, followed by sorting, structuring and evaluation in accordance with the objectives and needs of the client
  • location evaluation
  • constructing models and finding crosslinked solutions (“designer function”)
  • compiling, instructing, coordinating, controlling and supervising the international specialist team or the country consultants/representatives, respectively
  • pooling of information and know-how including fine-tuning, adapting and adjusting, based on the given objectives
  • project management and permanently steady contact person for the client
  • general comprehensive consulting regarding specific countries

The three phases in performing cross border activities

Projectdesign-Phase
The Projectdesign-Phase starts essentially with the process of compiling  general legal, tax-related, economic and factual information regarding the cross-border engagement or project, naturally concentrating on the country of former residence and the country selected for immigration.
The Projectdesign-Phase comprises, first of all, data collection and gathering factual information as well as clearly defining the needs of the clients. After that, the data will be filed and processed, several alternative solutions developed and integrated into a general plan of action. The ultimate objective of these steps is the optimisation of the international project as a whole as far as the various important topics and problems are concerned.

Realisation-Phase
During that phase of the international project, the chosen model will be fully implemented and realised by the specialists. The whole process is centrally monitored by the International Private Risk Manager® who holds the leadership position during the complete Realisation-Phase. In this capacity, he leads, coordinates and controls all specialists involved.

The Projectdesign-Phase as well as the Realisation-Phase will be completely covered by the services offered and rendered by GATE I International Move and also by GATE II International Home.

Follow-up-Phase after completion of cross-border activity
Even after the cross-border activity has been completed, further accompanying services in the country chosen, will be offered in terms of implementation and advice. This kind of follow-up service serves a double purpose: First, the implemented model or solution should be sustainably and lastingly secured in the long run, and secondly, factual changes in the business environment and within the legal framwork should be met with timely efficient countermeasures of adaptation and adjustments.
